Introducing Nanny Pickle and her Bad Bunny: A tale of Nursery Etiquette

From The Wonderland
23 June 2010

THE HISTORY OF NANNY PICKLE ... It was a fortuitous day some 3 years ago, that brought Nanny Pickle and the two Au Pairs together...although Bad Bunny often begs to differ.

Born out of whimsy and a daydream, Nanny Pickle and her two trusty Au Pairs: Shannon Horsfall and Jennine Heymer, create beautiful collections of delightful infantwear, divine papier pieces for baby and mama, sweet hand made toys, and delectable co-ordinated nursery accessories.

The daydream began in the head of Au Pair Shannon. Having spent her past life creating beautiful graphics for various clientele for over fifteen years, she was guided into the world of Nanny Pickle. When she had a Bad Bunny of her own, a wonderful garden of ideas flourished and after three years, the Nanny Pickle collections were born.

Bad Bunny’s other Au Pair, Jennine, spent 13 years working in the film industry. Working in production she felt that her creative desires were not being met.

Nanny Pickle’s adorable collections, for little bunnies aged 0-18 months, are like no other. Full of fantasy and fun, with just a hint of nostalgia, Nanny Pickle’s creations are certain to make Bad Bunnies and their Nannies the world over smile.

NANNY PICKLE'S VISION AND VALUES ... Nanny Pickle is truly committed to ensuring our wonderful world remains wonderful, and has promised to work towards an even better world for all future bunnies.

Nanny Pickle believes in doing the right thing, a protector of those who need protecting. With this in mind, she is committed to using materials that are sustainable and have the smallest impact possible on the environment.

The raw materials that make up the fabrics are organic and grown free of pesticides and fertilisers. The dye process used to create the beautiful palette uses new technologies where the dyes are fixed with salt rather than harsh fixing chemicals.

The Nanny Pickle factory adheres to high environmental practices and the factory itself is situated in an eco park - the first of its kind in China.

Along with her commitment to a wonderful world for future bunnies, Nanny Pickle also pledges a percentage of all profits to various charities to ensure the betterment of communities and the environment the world over.

THE DESIGN... Nanny Pickle designs with love in her heart, a twinkle in her eye and a giggle on her lips.

The humour of Bad Bunny is the essence of the range. Nanny Pickle, Bad Bunny and His Meadow Friends embark on wonderful and comical adventures creating a wonderful story for each collection. The ranges are designed with colours specifically selected within a particular palette for warmth and originality, and are chosen for their ability to complement each other season in and season out.

THE FABRIC ... the moment one touches the luxurious fabric used to create the Nanny Pickle range, one falls completely in love.

The Nanny Pickle collection is made from a selection of natural and organic yarns including Bamboo, Organic Cotton and comfort elastane.

Nanny Pickle believes that infant wear should be passed on to other Bad Bunnies not thrown out when the Bunny outgrows it.
