Handmade Heaven: Fancy Little MePersonalised ‘artrait’ photosAimee Brock1 November 2010 Having just lost my digital camera and photos of my little girl’s first birthday party when we ran over our digital camera in the driveway (don’t ask!), I’ve been getting all emotional about the importance of diarizing the days of our children’s childhoods. Especially those that remind us of a cute moment, or capture a trademark smirk or habit they have that no doubt will fade as they get older. One way to do this is to have a special photo of your child remade into a unique, personalised work of art. Our favourite design blog, Li'l Magoolie recently had her little girl’s cute pigtailed photo turned into artwork by Fancy Little Me. You choose a ‘style’ such as vintage birds, waterdrops or 80s jeans as a starting point and Fancy Little Me’s designers take your photo and ‘draw’something completely one of a kind for you. It’s then printed into an artwork, framed if you want, and delivered to you. Delicious. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Via Li'l Magoolie About the author: Aimee Brock is a life-long admirer of handmade crafts and gifts, and recently started her own handmade children’s label, lily pad designs. |
