Aspen's Room

If it’s not from Ikea or collected from various world travels, most of the furniture and accessories are secondhand items that have been fixed up or repurposed. There’s not much I haven’t done with babyfood jars because of Aspen’s I-won’t-eat-Mummy’s-food phase and the ‘Name Jars’ took all of five seconds and a couple of old cereal boxes to create. Great when you’re in a rental with lots of window sill space and not much else. I got the ‘Wallcandy Season‘ tree decal from their U.S store but it’s also available at Kido (OZ). Note that it has now been taken down and put up in three houses and is still in perfect condition so I can attest to its transportability! The two framed prints (robot next to Aspen’s bed and birds above bookshelf) are both from Presto Bingo. The lion suncatcher was made by a friend in Calgary based on my favourite illustrator’s work and the other I picked up for a few bucks at the Riccarton Raceway Market (my favourite trash and treasure market here). The last picture attests to the fact that I was in too much of a rush to tidy up properly(!) but shows how you can use hanging space for folded clothes if you have no drawers available. So there you have it! You so knew it wasn’t going to be classic and understated didn’t you?
