Merino fibre is the finest of all wool types, wool is measured in microns, the smaller the number the finer the fibre. MOBEA superfine merino measures 18 microns, in comparison a human hair measures about 100 microns. The result is superior softness with no itch, perfect for the most sensitive of skins.
Resilience
New Zealand merino fibre is long and strong, which increases a garment’s durability and ability to remain smooth and soft. MOBEA knit merino also includes 5% Lycra which increases it’s ability to return to it’s original shape making it the ultimate fabric to wear throughout pregnancy and beyond.
Temperature Balance
Merino has it’s own unique insulation qualities, creating a micro climate next to the skin. In a hot environment it slows evaporation of moisture on the skin keeping you cooler and in the cold it draws moisture away from the skin keeping you warm and dry. This natural conditioning system creates optimum comfort everyday.
Moisture Balance
Merino garments can hold up to 30% of its own weight in water without feeling damp so it can offer shower/rain resistence. MOBEA merino is an annually renewable, natural product. It is durable when in use, yet recyclable and biodegradable at the end of its life cycle. It is produced in free range farming systems, which are animal and environment friendly. Selected farms are chosen for their superb quality of Merino wool and their commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainability in farm management practices.
Ethical
MOBEA merino is Zque accredited which means that our New Zealand fibre source is traceable and sustainable with animal welfare criteria, management of the environment, stewardship of the land and socially responsible practices.
Process
MOBEA merino is sourced and processed through Designer Textiles and MAPP - Merino Advanced Performance Programme. MAPP product is not exposed to formaldehyde, their energy efficiency is constantly monitored and machinery maintained regularly to minimise energy use. Water waste is neutralised on site.
