Sooki Baby is currently taking New Zealand by storm, fast becoming one of the staple labels to be stocked by our top end baby boutiques and stores. With a touch of quirkiness and an extra large serving of style, the seasonal Sooki Baby range is full of fun prints, cuts that are both practical and trendy, and frankly, the little ones look unbelievably cute in them.

Sooki Baby, along with Tiny Tribe, are the commercial babies of fashion designer and mum, Dijana Dotur.

“I strive for quality in quantities. That’s why I have three amazing children and two successful fashion labels. Both these passions are intertwined and Sooki Baby is named after the nickname I gave my second son Josip.”

Dijana’s passion has seen her labels go from home office to Australian wide outreach through Myer stores, and now internationally.

Even when the balls feel as though they are about to be dropped, Dijana embraces the challenge of being a working mum. “The most important thing about being a working mum is being a mum that works for the business and the family. I’ve learned to take each day as it comes and to truly appreciate the time I spend with my husband and my kids,” Dijana said.

After graduating from one of Australia’s leading fashion schools, Whitehouse Institute of Design, Dijana jobhopped from textile design, sales and product development before finally fulfilling a childhood dream.

If the phases of childhood are anything to go by, Dijana’s commercial children Tiny Tribe and Sooki Baby have outgrown their terrible twos and fussy fives and are heading into years of success with plans for a company extension.

“If this juggling act continues to hold itself up as well as it is now, there are definitely plans to penetrate further into the market”.

We’re predicting big things for Dijana and her labels, and are loving the fact that they are now so readily available throughout New Zealand. Watch this space as we know we’ll be bringing you more of Sooki Baby in the future.
