I remember being told when I attended my Plunket Baby and You Course after my first was born that babies love plain black and white images, and that the high contrast helps stimulate their brain development.

We were told to draw a face on a white paper plate – a great idea, and the little ones love it, but even easier are these freebies from Wee Gallery – a well respected and popular maker of art cards, mobiles, graphics and more.

You can download a pdf of their sheep card for you to print here. They also have a free download of their sheep and butterfly images for use as an iron on patch, but you could also just print them off and attach them to your newborns mobile or activity gym for them to look at and enjoy too.
