Honey Chicken Wings

Honey Chicken Wings

Recipe and photo from Jasmine Leaning

16 chicken wings (or about 24 pieces of chicken nibbles)
60g butter
1 clove garlic, crushed and chopped finely
1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
3 tablespoons honey
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
3 tablespoons soy sauce
Sesame seeds to sprinkle (optional)

For the marinade:
Melt butter in a pan and cook garlic and ginger over a medium heat for about 1 minute.  Take off heat.  Stir in honey, Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce – mix thoroughly.  Let cool.

Pour marinade over chicken wings and mix well.  For best results, leave to marinade in the fridge for at least an hour.  If you are not making ahead or don’t have the time, it will be fine just cooking it straight away.

Heat oven to 180°C.  Bake for approx. 30-45 minutes until nice and golden looking.  Remove from oven, cool for about 5 minutes then sprinkle sesame seeds (optional). Serve as a nibbles pre-dinner, or with rice and vegetables as a meal.

NOTE: instead of baking in the oven, you can cook these over the BBQ too.  Use for chicken breasts or other chicken pieces too.
