6 homemade school holiday craft essentials

During school holidays, arts and crafts projects can be a lifesaver. While it can be important to have store bought supplies for some things, having recipes for homemade versions using household ingredients is a great way to save money. The ingredients are everyday things you will already have in the cupboard and you can make more when they run out (trust me, this will happen!)

Most of you will have a handy Playdough recipe but check out these other homemade art supplies like the Frozen Popsicle Chalk and Face Paint. And if you are wondering what Cornstarch is, in a lot of these recipes it's actually Cornflour! Who knew?!

1. Bubble bath paint

Kids love baths and paint and here is a fantastic combination of both. Easy to make and fun, fun, fun!

3. Frozen popsicle chalk

Here's a neat idea for the sunnier days - this frozen popsicle chalk is easy to prepare ahead and using sticks means that the kids won't get *quite* as messy!

4. Puffy Paint

Puffy paint is one of my kids' all-time fave crafts. They can spend hours crafting their designs and oooing and ahhhing over the result. Even I love the squishy feeling when it's puffed!

5. Colourful crayons

I love the way that these little crayons are like teeny rainbows. They're super-easy to make and the result is so pretty.

You've probably already got a playdough recipe but just in case....! This link also has some cute printable lablels so that you can make the dough as a gift or just keep it :)
