Planet Wise Food Wraps

Wash, rinse, reuse

31 May 2012

We’ve all seen them – the statistics on how much clingfilm goes into our landfills, particularly from the school lunchboxes.  My little girl recently started going for a couple of full days each week to her preschool, so, two days a week, her lunch gets packed up, and shipped off with her for the day.  I was surprised at the amount of guilt I felt wrapping her sandwiches and cheese and crackers each time...  so it was off to search for reusable wraps or bags I went.

I chose the Planet Wise sandwich and snack bags primarily because of their cool designs.  Let’s face facts, with my little girl, something is substantially more likely to be eaten if it’s wrapped in something she considers pretty!  The Planet Wise range is American designed and made, and is made from FDA Food Safe Materials.  I got both the sandwich bags and the snack bags (two of each), and both have full length Velcro enclosures which keep the food fresh.  They also have waterproof seams and angled corners for easy cleaning – which can be done by hand or machine wash.

The end result – they do the job, they clean up easily, and I have one less thing to feel guilty about in life – it’s a win for me!

The Planet Wise range are available in New Zealand from Bubbalooz.
