Handmade Heaven: Rascally Robots

It’s pretty obvious what attracts little boys to robots: the lights, the buzzers, the mechanical parts to pick apart and put back together. And original, old fashioned robots are just as hot as today’s cartoon ones. So why not treat your little guy to some retro rascally robot fun on his school stationary or home art and writing sets with this cool printable PDF stationary kit from Cate Holst Design.

The set includes a booklet with an editable section on the front panel to write your little guy’s name, book labels, a bookmark and a school bag tag. They all feature three robots called Rudy, Rosie and Reginald, ‘who are happy to live in a retro world when a radio was called a wireless and a suitcase was called a trunk’, Cate says. The set even prints with a texture like a vintage parchment of yesteryear.

You can also introduce rascally robot fun to your little guy when he’s still a baby, with these ultra safe babies’ rattles from Ollie Rose, available in New Zealand from Holly Chic, or these quirky and colourful felt and cotton star robot softies from Peanut Whimsy.
