Described by both the company and industry commentators as "the complete compact stroller system", the smart looks set to reshape the stroller market with its introduction of ground breaking technology like phil&teds’ revolutionary 'aerocore' seating.

"We set out to prove that 'compact' needn't mean 'functionless'," says phil&teds' design head Phil Brace. "The compact market has, since 1964, been dominated by the umbrella stroller which - other than being light - does little to meet key parental stroller needs. We wanted to rectify that."



In creating a sleek & strong aluminium framed compact, weighing just 5kg (11 lbs) yet featuring flat folding, a seat recline and both bassinet and infant car seat adaptability, Brace's team has done just that.

Innovative technology is at the heart of the smart's smarts. The AEROCORE seat, first introduced on the phil&teds' Highpod highchair earlier in 2010, seeks to resolve key parental stroller issues. Its unique properties ensure that the seat is ergonomically supportive yet cushioning, to keep child occupants happy for longer; lightweight yet strong & durable, to trump an umbrella's flimsy frame and easily torn fabric; breathable yet waterproof and wipeclean, to counter the lack of hygiene and all weather suitability of all other compact strollers.
