Louisa Currie and Heidi Riley, founders of online baby boutique Belly Beyond, are bringing the label to New Zealand to meet demand caused in part by the recent yummy mummy phenomenon. “The Cake Lingerie range is designed specifically to make pregnant and breast feeding mothers feel good” says Louisa. “Modern mums want maternity lingerie beyond beige nana knickers and who could argue they don’t deserve it?” adds Heidi.
Cake’s designer, Tracey Montford, has made sure that the collection doesn’t just look amazing but combines fashion with comfort and practicality. Features include cotton linings, discreet drop down cups for nursing as well as extra length in the band and straps to accommodate a mum-to-be’s expanding curves.
