Mountain Buggy Duo 2010 Model

Duo Dream

13 January 2010

I took the new buggy out for a spin today. I am so impressed.

With two kids, the Mountain Buggy duo is what we finally decided on. I have to admit, I was a bit concerned about it feeling like moving from a Porsche to an Army Tank. I needn’t have worried.

The new Mountain Buggies have a narrower wheel base, so the duo is just 75cm wide. What I was most impressed about was the fact that walking along the footpath, it didn’t really feel I was pushing anything at all, I could stand upright, steer with just the one hand and feel quite comfortable doing it. It handled the beach just fine, and while through the very soft sand I could start to feel a little weight, I’m sure it wasn’t the whole 35kg I was pushing (that’s a combined buggy, toddler and baby weight by the way).

The individual canopies and layback positions worked perfectly (the little one needed a nap, and was quite comfortable lying back while the toddler was upright checking out and charming the passers by). The canopies also have these really cool flick out sun visors for extra shade and protection – a brilliant idea.

So, I’m in love. And so are the kids, they love getting out in the fresh air!

Check out the Mountain Buggy website for stockists.
