The Tummy Tub | Making bathtime easy...Making bathtime easy…25 January 2009![]() I wish I had known about The Tummy Tub when I was pregnant. Or maybe I wouldn’t have realized how wonderful one of these would be until after I had gone through the frustration of trying to bathe my baby in a plastic bath on the dining room table, or worse, the times I tried in the big bath. The tummy tub is designed to bath babies in the foetal position. Obviously this is designed to replicate the experience of being in the womb and is said to help ease babies through the transition into the world. For the baby, the water level up to their shoulder helps keep them warm while being bathed, and helps them settle and sleep better. From a parent’s perspective, it’s easier to carry than a standard baby bath when full, and definitely lighter because it doesn’t require as much water. It takes up less space and can be used everywhere from the table or the floor, at the beach, or out camping. It also makes it easier to hold onto your baby with only one hand – leaving the other hand free to wash your baby. The Tummy Tub is available from Nature Baby for $55. |
